Graham Elementary School, a teacher-run non-profit community school, has made significant investments to keep the ratio of students to teachers and students to counselors low. We do this so that you can receive the attention you require. Compare our student-teacher ratio (10.5 to 1) with other “virtual” learning methods (60 to 1, or worse).
If you cannot afford a new computer, used business PCs are an excellent alternative that may be acquired for less than $200. Choose a computer running Windows 10 or Mac OS 12 or higher. A Chromebook will also work.
The GES learning paradigm is primarily asynchronous (not real-time), but it does provide extensive real-time assistance. What exactly does this mean? Although each course requires a particular amount of work each week, you are free to create your own daily or weekly schedule. You can also speed up during the week when something is simple for you and slow down when it is hard. Some of our courses feature weekly class meetings; however, they are only necessary for the “college prep course.” In other classes, if your schedule prevents you from attending the meeting, your teacher will provide an alternate assignment.

P.E. Course Description:
Advanced Physical Education is an interactive course that covers the five health-related components of fitness, as well as additional fitness concepts such as anatomy and physiology, wellbeing, nutrition, and a variety of other topics connected to healthy living. This course is intended to help students improve their physical fitness skills throughout their lives. It combines physical activities with online assessments, courses, and activities to offer the learner a solid foundation for lifelong physical activity.
Students are required to maintain an active schedule while in class, such as participating in a school or club sport or engaging in physical activities that they enjoy. There will be daily online journaling, as well as tasks that will assist students through the course as they gain the tools necessary for a successful adulthood.

Physical activity is essential for the development and maintenance of optimal health. The purpose of physical education is to create physically educated people who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to engage in healthy physical exercise for the rest of their lives.
A physically educated individual:
Standard 1: Shows competency in the motor skills and movement patterns required to undertake a wide range of physical activities.
Standard 2: Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, techniques, and tactics as they relate to physical activity learning and performance.
Standard 3: Engages in frequent physical activity.
Standard 4: Develops and maintains a degree of physical fitness that benefits one’s health.
Standard 5: Demonstrates acceptable personal and social behavior that respects oneself and others in physical activity settings.
